What Being Recognised as a Top 50 Destination Wedding Photographer Really Means
Over the years, my work as a destination wedding photographer has been recognised by some of the platforms I genuinely respect within this industry. Being listed by The Wed among the world's top wedding photographers capturing modern love stories in Italy and Europe, named in the Top 50 Wedding Photographers in the World by DWP, and featured on Wezoree as one of the top destination wedding photographers worldwide have each felt meaningful in their own way. Each of these things has meant something to me, and I want to be honest about what, exactly, that something is.
Where It Started
I built this career entirely on my own. No financial support, no industry connections, no shortcuts of any kind. What I had was a genuine love for photography, a very clear vision of the kind of work I wanted to create, and a willingness to show up consistently, even during the periods when things felt uncertain and progress was slow.
I never take any of this for granted. I still work as hard as I did at the very beginning, because I know how fragile it all is, and how much it matters to the people who trust me with their most important days.
What These Recognitions Actually Mean
Being listed among the best destination wedding photographers in Italy, Europe, and worldwide is gratifying, of course. But what makes those listings meaningful to me is knowing they were earned organically, through years of dedication, consistency, and a genuine commitment to my craft.
It feels like confirmation that hard work, patience, and staying true to your own vision can still be noticed and valued in an industry that sometimes rewards visibility over substance. More than the recognition itself, I am grateful for what it represents: trust from my clients, respect from my peers, and the opportunity to continue doing work that I genuinely love.

What Couples Actually Care About
I want to be honest about something that I think gets lost in conversations about awards and publications. Couples place far more trust in the photographs themselves than in any recognition a photographer has received. At the end of the day, what truly matters is whether they connect with the work and can imagine their own story being captured in a similar way.
No award tells you whether a photographer will make you feel comfortable, whether they will be present on your day, or whether their images will still move you in twenty years. The photographs do that. The relationship does that. The awards are wonderful and I am grateful for them, but they do not define my work. What defines it is the experience my couples have, the memories we create together, and the fact that years later they can look at their photographs and still feel something genuine.
That is what I think about when I look back at everything I have built as a destination wedding photographer. Not the publications, not the lists, but the galleries that made people cry when they opened them. The couples who wrote to me months after their wedding to say that the images brought everything back. The moments that were captured not because they were staged, but because I was present enough to see them.
That is the achievement that matters most to me. Everything else is a very welcome consequence.
