A Venice Wedding at Aman Venice and Fondazione Dries Van Noten
Claire and Arthur chose Venice for their destination wedding, and in all honesty, it was hard to imagine them anywhere else. She grew up partly in Italy. He brought wine from Château de Corcelles, his family's French estate. Their guests flew in from Vietnam, Paris, New York, and Rome. A Venetian wedding felt like the one place in the world where all of that could come together naturally.
Day One: Aman Venice
The weekend opened at Aman Venice with an intimate Jewish blessing, held among their closest people. A family friend officiated, the chuppah was draped in soft linen and flowers, and the room felt exactly as it should for a moment like that. Personal, unhurried, and deeply felt.
Aman Venice is one of the most exclusive wedding venues in Italy. A 16th-century palazzo sitting directly on the Grand Canal, with original frescoes, restored interiors, and a quality of stillness that the rest of Venice rarely offers. For couples planning a luxury wedding in Venice, it is genuinely hard to find anything that compares. The spaces feel historic without being heavy, and the privacy it offers is something couples remember long after the day itself.
Day Two: The Ceremony and Fondazione Dries Van Noten
The Catholic ceremony took place in a magnificent church in Venice, Italy, with white flowers cascading from the altar to the entrance and a French-speaking priest so that both families could follow along in their own language. When Claire and Arthur stepped outside after, the bells rang and strangers on the street stopped to cheer and take pictures. That kind of moment cannot be planned, and it is always the one we remember most.
The evening reception moved to Fondazione Dries Van Noten, a setting that suited this couple completely. Red velvet tones, candlelight, museum chairs, and wines from the family estate. Every detail was chosen with intention, and the room reflected that. The celebration continued on a boat across the Venetian lagoon until sunrise, with the same DJ who had played the night Claire and Arthur first met. As far as Venice weddings go, it is hard to imagine a more fitting end to a weekend like this.
Photographing a Wedding in Venice
Two days, two venues, two ceremonies, and a city that never sits still. We loved every moment of it. Venice wedding photography asks you to move quickly, read the light as it shifts across water and stone, and stay close enough to the people in front of you that nothing feels posed. Claire and Arthur made that easy. They moved through their weekend with a kind of ease that made everything we captured feel honest.
